Jazz Sethi, daughter of former world billiards champion Geet Sethi, has started a movement called 'D1abesties' (Diabesties), that would act as a support system, a lifestyle guide, and a counselor to help such patients and their family members and bust myths that surround the disease. Diabesties, a fun support group conceptualised by dancer-choreographer Jazz Sethi, a Type 1 diabetic herself, is " an initiative to make Type 1 Diabetes into a fun, supportive, motivating and glamorous lifestyle for Type 1 Diabetics ". As part of this initiative, the group has come up with DiaMeets, where type 1 diabetics meet and have fun. There's one tomorrow at Project Otenga, which promises you games, interesting icebreakers, cool facts and sugar-free food. In a massive campaign to ensure a comfortable environment for Type1 diabetic students in schools, Type1 patients from Ahmedabad are going to reach out to major schools across the country, raising awareness among teachers. This campaign is the second phase of ‘D1iabesties’ (Diabesties), which was started by a 23-year-old Jazz Sethi, who was diagnosed with Type1 at the age of 13.
